USurf Batukaras

USurf Batukaras is a locally run surf coaching outfit in Batukaras, the laid-back fishing village in Pangandaran Regency on West Java's south coast. Lessons are led by local coach Ucup and a small team of hand-picked guides who grew up surfing the village's main point and know how its waves change with the tide.

Coaching is aimed at first-time surfers up to intermediate longboarders working on their noseriding. Sessions are planned around each surfer's goals and the day's conditions, with in-water support for paddling and pop-ups, plus lessons on wave selection, positioning, ocean safety and lineup etiquette. Batukaras is known for its gentle, peeling right-handers, which make it one of Java's best spots for learners and longboarders.

Bookings are made by enquiry through the USurf website, WhatsApp or email, and the team will confirm lesson times to suit the tide. Batukaras is about 30 km west of Pangandaran town, so it's an easy add-on to a West Java surf trip.
