Kefi Surf Canggu is a small, locally run surf school on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong in Canggu, teaching on the soft, forgiving waves of Batu Bolong beach. The name comes from the Greek word for joy and high spirits, and the team has been running lessons and surf trips for more than seven years. Its instructors are Balinese locals, most with over 20 years' experience teaching, and all are lifeguard certified.

Lessons are private (one instructor per student) or shared between two people, and last up to two hours. They cover complete beginners, intermediate surfers and children. The published prices are IDR 400,000 for a single lesson with board, IDR 1.1 million for three lessons and IDR 2.4 million for a seven-lesson "pro package"; surfers bringing their own longboard or shortboard pay IDR 350,000, and two people sharing an instructor pay IDR 750,000. A surfboard, rash vest, zinc and cold water are included; insurance is not.

For surfers ready to leave the beach break, Kefi also runs guided surf trips to other Bali spots and nearby islands, from IDR 400,000. Lessons are by reservation only, booked through the website or WhatsApp; the school is open daily from 6am to 7pm. Check current prices with the school before you go.
