Poggy Bali Surf School

Poggy Bali Surf School is a small, Balinese-owned surf school based at Padang Padang in Uluwatu, on the Bukit Peninsula. It was set up in 2024 by head coach Lempog, who grew up in Lebih village on Bali's east coast, has been surfing for more than 20 years and competed in junior events from the age of ten. The school teaches complete beginners as well as surfers who want to sharpen their technique, taking students to whichever spot suits their level and the day's conditions.

The standard lesson lasts two hours: around 30 minutes of theory and safety on the sand, then about 90 minutes in the water. Private lessons are one instructor to one student, semi-private one to two, and group lessons one to three or four. Its published prices are IDR 500,000 per person for a group lesson, IDR 650,000 semi-private and IDR 800,000 private, with three-day packages for each format. A surfboard, rash vest, zinc and wax are included, and photos or video of the session can be added for an extra charge.

For intermediate and advanced surfers, Poggy offers surf coaching and guiding around the Bukit's reef breaks, plus guided day trips. Bookings are taken through the website or WhatsApp; check current prices and availability directly with the school before travelling.
