Heaven on the Planet is a long-established surf resort on 35 hectares of clifftop above Ekas Bay, on the remote south-east coast of Lombok, about an hour and a half by road from Lombok International Airport. It has around 21 individually designed villas and garden rooms, from Garden Rooms set among the trees to Surf View villas at the front of the property, the clifftop Big Villa and two private Supreme Villas above Inside Ekas, together with infinity pools, a restaurant, yoga and massage.

Surfing is built into the stay. Boat trips to the breaks inside Ekas Bay are included, and the resort keeps a range of surfboards from 5'8" shortboards to 10' soft-top mals for beginners, along with SUPs, kayaks and boogie boards; reviewers also mention mid-lengths, longboards and foil set-ups. The home breaks are Inside Ekas, a peaky left and right that suits a range of levels, and Outside Ekas, a powerful left for experienced surfers, with Air Guling and the easier waves of Gerupuk within reach. Surf and SUP lessons, foil lessons with an on-site instructor and night surfing under lights cost extra.

Agent Perfect Wave lists rates from about USD 92 per person per night in a Garden Room up to about USD 132 for a Supreme Villa, with meals and surf boat trips included and drinks, lessons, tours and airport transfers (about USD 41 per vehicle) extra. High season runs from April to October. The resort does not publish a phone number or email on its own site, so book through its website or a surf travel agent and confirm current rates for your dates.
