Hollow Tree's Resort (HT's)

Hollow Tree's Resort sits on the beachfront at Katiet in South Sipora, right in front of HT's, also known as Lances Right, one of the best-known right-hand reef waves in the Mentawai Islands. More than ten other breaks are within a short boat or bike ride, so guests can move between spots as the swell and wind change.

Rooms range from twin-share rooms with a shared bathroom to private ensuite standard and deluxe ocean-view rooms, all with air conditioning, hot showers and Wi-Fi. Rates start at USD 150 per person per night in a twin-share room, plus 10% government tax. The resort also has the Sago Bistro and Bar, a gym, yoga and activities such as snorkelling, kayaking, fishing and jungle walks.

HT's itself is a wave for intermediate and advanced surfers, but the resort also runs group and private lessons for beginners on nearby beach breaks and the gentler Mini HT's. Rental boards are available from USD 25 per day for soft tops and USD 35 per day for Channel Islands boards, billed at the end of the stay.
