Mentawai Blue Surf Charter

Mentawai Blue Surf Charter has been running boat trips through the Mentawai Islands since launching its vessel, the Naga Laut, in late 1999. Trips depart from Padang in West Sumatra and typically run for around 11 nights, following the swell and wind to the best breaks in the chain, with Telos and Banyak trips also available on request.

The Naga Laut was built for surf charters and has four two-bed cabins plus one larger four-bed cabin, sailing most comfortably with eight to ten guests. On board there is full air conditioning, Starlink internet, fishing and snorkelling gear, and two tenders, an aluminium speedboat and a smaller Polycraft, for getting to the waves quickly or splitting the group between breaks.

Local surf guide Fadil plans each day around the forecast with guests, aiming for early sessions before the crowds arrive. Meals mix Western, Indonesian and Chinese dishes, and airport transfers to and from the boat are included.
