Andaman Sea & Surf

Andaman Sea & Surf is a family-run surf-themed hotel and surf school on a quiet hillside above Patong. Lessons are held at the north end of Patong Beach, a beach break that works for all levels, while the Kalim reef break is just around the headland for more experienced surfers.

Coaching comes from ISA-trained instructors, with a personal instructor on every course. Options run from a 1-hour introductory session to a 1-day beginner course with pool training and video analysis, a 2-day course with certificate, and 5-day intermediate and advanced programmes covering surf fitness, wave selection and competition tactics. Board and SUP rental, day trips around Phuket and overnight trips to Khao Lak are also offered, and payment is cash only.

The main surf season in Phuket is May to November. The set-up suits travellers who want to stay and surf in one place, from beginners and children to intermediate surfers looking for structured coaching.
